About the VTFLH

Who We Are & Gratitude

The Vermont French Learning Hub (VTFLH) connects Vermont families, caregivers, and campuses with joyful, practical French-learning experiences. We lower barriers to language learning through community events, simple tools for parents, and partnerships that make French visible, social, and fun.

Co-Founders & Lead Volunteers:

  • Lisa Choux — Co-Founder, Treasurer & Operations guru.

  • Leslie Parker — Co-Founder, Secretary & Community and family engagement.

  • Rachel Villéger — Co-Founder, President & Early childhood learning expert.

  • Thibault Dody — Website designer & Parent advocate.

Together, they launched VTFLH to address a simple need: make French accessible at home and in community spaces, while welcoming families at every level—from “day 1” beginners to bilingual households.

We also want to extend a big THANK YOU to communications specialist and fellow parent volunteer, Taryn Hennebicque, for her invaluable guidance and support during the first phase of this important initiative.

Our Mission

  • Access: Make French learning possible for any Vermont family that’s already working hard or curious to try.

  • Community: Build friendly, low‑pressure spaces where kids and caregivers can practice together.

  • Momentum: Offer simple resources and events that keep families engaged month after month.

2025/2026 Impact At‑a‑Glance

  • ~60 families reached through outreach, events, and resource sharing.

  • Soft Launch Party: ~40 attendees celebrated our kick‑off in 2025.

  • Fete de la Galette et du Carnaval: ~50 attendees celebrated carnival season in 2026.

  • 17 community meetups:

    • 11 Wiggle Room Infant & Toddler meetups

    • 6 Parent‑led Thursday Playdates

    • First 2026 ZOOM Fireside Chat on raising bilingual children

[My 5 year old daughter] wants to come to the next meetup. Even better, she said she really needs to practice her French so she can understand what everyone is saying. I’m so excited she came away wanting to learn more! See you at the next one!
— Steve. R., a VTFLH parent.
